Lucia Marquez is a Policy Advocate with The Central Coast Alliance United for a Sustainable Economy based in Ventura County. She grew up in Santa Paula, the community where her grandparents decided to settle down after immigrating from Mexico because of the job opportunities to work in the fields picking lemons. She graduated from Santa Paula High School, Ventura College and the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she majored in Community Studies. Lucia joined the CAUSE staff in 2017 as a community organizer working with Adult and Youth leaders on the Westside of Ventura. At CAUSE, she has worked on campaigns around voting rights, immigrants rights, housing, mental health and environmental justice.
