Andrea Echeverri
Senior Policy Advocate

Andrea Echeverri joined CAUSE as a Policy Advocate in 2023. She was born in Medellín, Colombia where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Communication from one of the most important public universities in Latin America, the University of Antioquia, and later, in 2017, she immigrated to San Luis Obispo, California and currently works at the CAUSE Santa Maria office.

For the past ten years, Andrea has been working with an emphasis on outreach, social change, education, and communication in the public and private sectors, building networks between universities, organizations, and government agencies to develop and improve strategies that positively impact the community. From content creation and social mobilization to public relations and digital marketing, Andrea has also gained specialized experience designing, implementing, evaluating, and managing national environmental and public health programs and campaigns for diverse audiences.

As a bilingual/bicultural professional, she believes in the great wealth of diversity and multicultural dynamics due to her learning and understanding of the interactions between social groups that are historically underrepresented and marginalized. Her passions are working with and for the community, promoting health, well-being, a dignified life, and environmental and social justice. Her favorite hobbies are bicycling, outdoor walks, practicing body combat, dancing, petting pets, buying more plants, and cooking.
